Commenters noted how strange this DA seems, opting to most likely not charge the clerk, apparently, and saying he was in a high-stress situation. Because of his actions, the second robber had to go to hospital for his wounds, and was arrested there, so neither can rob anyone next weekend, it seems. ... As the US turns more Conservative politically/culturally, as seems to be the trend, will more old-fashioned perhaps regions like New Orleans seem more correct and more-progressive places like California seem less correct? The clerk basically did something similar to what a lone rookie policeman would have done in this situation, maybe?
