This is like what I wrote about women in the workplace and 'feminism' in society, and you could say about any group claiming minority status and special prerogatives. It takes a lot of bandwidth. If you are asking or demanding people's attention and resources, or are forcing yourself in front of them and trying to force them to modify their behaviour, you better have an overwhelming justification for this, which those people would recognize. Not just that you want to have special treatment for your group. Otherwise your group is a tax on society.
