He's noticed the shift since 5 years ago, that when you raised these issues people would have a kneejerk against you, and shame you for raising the issue of disadvantages or risks to young men, and they're willing to talk about special interests for every group except young men, but mothers who have noticed this happening to their boys, have pushed a few politicians to start talking about it.
