Belarus halts Russian drone systems amid pressure from Moscow | DW News (youtube.com)

Issue in question is whether Belarus would allow its territory as a base for Russian drones in attacks on Ukraine.

Lukashenko said all this story was Western propaganda. Lukashenko has been a longterm ally of Putin and Russia, so it seems like it would be a sudden break and you might wonder what motivation he would have for changing course, if it is true.

The reason Lukashenko might really have rejected Russian drone base rights is that if Ukraine attacks Belarus, it would make Lukashenko unpopular.

Belarus and Russia have an EU style relationship, no international taxes probably, common labor market, no visa required.

Could Kazakhstan be next, as long as it sends Russia oil?
