Macro Matters: Europe 'needs private investment' for defense | REUTERS (youtube.com)

Fed's challenges are at odds with each other. If tariffs cause inflation (not just a one-time increase), the Fed usually would raise rates. But if there's a recession or layoffs or slowdown, the Fed usually would cut rates.

Nintendo Switch preorders will be delayed, ‘to assess the potential impact of tariffs and evolving market conditions. The launch date of June 5... is unchanged.’

Tariffs raise prices, but they could also be deflationary if demand falls. Then the producer has to cut their prices to meet demand. If prices fall that's stagnating demand.

Some things have been 'on sale' recently.

People might like to just not see prices go up.

I heard a figure like $600m or something for one of those days, losses in the market. If people sell, it would be possible to manipulate a loss of let's say $2t, which would, combined with $2t in DOGE savings and $2t in Lutnick deals, improve actual GDP, reduce liquidity (inflation), and reduce debt.

From the new lower point, they could sell some notes and maybe have stronger buying.
