Hack exposes more than 150 million U.S. and Canadian driver's licenses on dark web (youtube.com)
Any real government would prevent this by closing these databases off, which requires some manual effort to retrieve the records when requested and moved to a connected machine, but is the only way.
Besides the IDs, travel documents, medical cards.
Not only that, but as I've mentioned before, the loose insecure practices of local and especially internatoinal governments with IDs and photographing IDs, the government should issue secondary coded IDs to use in other countries without actual identifying info.
The government hasn't even put out a PSA on ‘What can people even do now?’ Nothing. They also just took down the marketplace where it was being sold, and didn't put up anything where people can search if their ID was in the ‘leak’.
The ‘expert’ on tihs video says to freeze your credit, get an the IRS identity protection PIN, and do 2-step bank login. Ie no help.
