Why Is Everyone Afraid To Say This? | Gad Saad (youtube.com)
After every attack, they note, the media gives a ton of reasons. Poverty, climate change, SM, lack of opportunity, video games, but never the reason the attacker himself gave. The attacker's own reason is ignored, basically. Often, government hides an attacker's manifesto, posts, comments. Gad Saad says the West has become increasingly afraid to confront uncomfortable truths.
He also argued that it's not a good idea to constantly create a false division between 'Islam' and 'islamism' and says they're basically the same thing, or are parts of each other, a political movement that says we will all be united once we all accept this same treatise or religion.
Kind of an old point, I remember trying to cover this like 15 years ago, but he gives a long list of countries where the bulk of the 44k terror attacks committed in the name of a religion happened, and shows 85% were Islam, 10% Jewish, 3% Christian, 3% Hindu.
The reasons for the attacks are given to the public as 'lone wolf', 'studying engineering', 'Western corruption,' 'Jewish conspiracy,' historical events like The Crusades. The attacker's posts or the people close to him aren't investigated for his motive.
