AI-generated fake evidence is landing people in jail as courts struggle with new technology (youtube.com)
Her ex created a fake text that he used against her in a domestiv violence case. And then another fake one to show she ‘violated her no contact order’.

‘No one could show the metadata. No one could show the text in its original form. Everything was a screenshot.’

Another woman used AI to make a picture of a man she falsely accused of burglarizing and raping her.

AI videos, images, sound, are so real no one can tell, in court. How can judges decide someone's fate based on this? Also, the effect it might have on jurors. But that could go both ways. One, jurors can see something that makes them negatively inclined toward the depicted person, but also jurors could be like ‘I don’t believe any of this.'

AI halucinations also can show up in court. Misunderstanding information. 25% of info sometimes that comes from AI is misinformation.
