Mother faces 'rarely used charge' for young son's felonies (youtube.com)
There is no way for the society there to do anything about it. The 11 year old has been involved in multiple felonies, robberies, burglaries, fire, but there's no way to charge anyone under 12.
The officer in the interview is saying that because the mother didn't take advantage of the services they offered her, she's basically guilty. Are we guilty for not doing things police offer us to do for people in our care? I for one don't trust any stranger and definitely no stranger with power and immunity like government workers, and I wouldn't take their offer either, or even consider it.
I wonder if they understand they're not solving the problem, which is that they can't charge an 11 year old.
They are arguing that the kid's mother's behavior is creating a situation which is allowing this to happen, and is harming or risking harm to the child.
I think you're going to be charging a lot of parents if you start doing that.
