ICE Raids, LA Riots, Strong Economic Data, Politicized Fed, Iran War with Tucker Carlson (youtube.com)
Top billing was the protests/riots in Cali and now NY, Chicago, Austin, DC, etc.
Started after ICE raided a Home Depot and a fashion retailer. Protests broke out. 44 were arrested by ICE. ICE was seen ‘randomly picking people up’, ICE running into a strawberry field in Oxnard. Some Waymos were vandalized. Bricks and molotovs thrown at officers.
‘We’re going to go after the criminals. We're going to go after the gang members.' That's what Trump basically said. Now ICE is seen dragging handy men from Home Depot. Rolling up to farm, grab everybody, we'll figure it out later if their papers check out. Jcal. But Sacks said that those Home Depot workers were involved in various illegal things, including real crimes like drug gang, murder, and there were warrants for their arrests.
Wouldn't it just have been smarter to do ‘If you’re in your in. But now the border's going to be tough.' Which would make everyone in here secure, sure, bound together, and strong. But now they're tearing apart friends and families, businesses, disruption of business, etc, no one can trust anyone, the agencies like ICE and others all look really bad, mean, aggressive. Who's going to like that?
About 60% of polled Americans supported Trump's actions in Cali, with around 35% opposing it.
Tucker seemed totally on the side of Trump etc, rule of law, etc, and supported the use of military in Cali, going against Newsom, etc. Chamath seemed somewhat in favor, at least still in it enough to say words in favor. Only Jcal seemed somewhat on the other side, but even he said the National Guard should come in any time there's violence on cops (because his family is cops).
