Although the default has to be that a state should never invade another state, and the invading state hasn't exactly established a record for human or civil rights protections or belief or action, in the case of Venezuela, while there may be better ways still, the Venezuelans I know have suffered for years and are suffering now, because their government isn't doing anything for them. No one even really knows why or what the government is doing, since the people can't practice journalism there, consequences are dire. Most (all?) want the worst to happen to Maduro. I mean, he's had a lot of time to figure something out there, but hasn't done anything to improve anything, and if unchallenged it looks like there will be no relief for Venezuelans for who knows how long. Of course, a democratic solution is incomparably better, because a violent government replacement only invites itself to be taken over the same way, since it has no democratic or other legitimacy, and has established itself as an entity that allows violence as such a means. Venezuela, therefore, could be a failed state either way.
