Trump Has Heated Meeting With South Africa's President Over Genocide Claims (full remarks) (youtube.com)
Is there genocide of white farmers in SA? I think probably everyone is familiar with this story from 15 or so years ago when documentaries came out, but the governments didn't seem interested (because the victims were white, is a fair assessment).
I don't know if this is a positive. Whites not being seen ever as victims maybe gives them clout everywhere. It also reinforces positive traits of accountability. You don't really hear about whites trying to claim victimhood or making a career or entrepreneurship out of it becaues it pays. So whether this is a positive for white people I'm not sure. It might have been better to throw in our lot with the people there fighting for their farms and do the fight with them.
On the other hand, it might universalize the concept of victimhood (which currently applies mostly to blacks and a bit to brown people, and even a bit to asians but not in economic terms, only in making fun of asians with slurs), and then maybe everyone will put it down if it's seen to be a universal thing (not political ie one group taking resources from another). \
I haven't seen anyone in the know commenting on the SA thing though, to give an idea of what's going on these days.
